It's a question I get more than you might think.
People see the name - OmniEra Life - and they're curious. Why Life? Is it life insurance? Not OmniEra Events. Not OmniEra Experiences. Not OmniEra Entertainment, which is actually where this all began.
The answer isn't just a branding story for our web domain. It's a real one. It's taken over two decades, a lot of living, some profound loss, and more than a few plot twists to get here.
I grew up as a dancer in the Bay Area, surrounded by arts and entertainment from the very beginning. My grandparents lived in Southern California, music and performance were always in the air, and I always knew I wanted my own company someday.
In 2002 while having a dance group and performing fire poi alongside another artist, I decided it was time to make it official. I wanted a name that was expansive, not limiting - because I loved combining different art forms and I didn't want a name that would put us in a box. After some creative roadblocks (turns out "Omni Entertainment" was already taken!), OmniEra Entertainment was born.
Over the next decade, we built something genuinely special. A roster of 20+ artists at any given time - dancers, musicians, DJs, visual artists, producers. We helped larger production companies bring their visions to life and began producing our own events. Those early years were a heyday in the truest sense of the word.
Two of the most important people in that world - and in my life - were Chris "Cloudskipper" Madore, also my right-hand for all things A/V and tech, and Carlos Alfonzo Lopez, my number one partner in life. Both were DJs and producers who had been part of OmniEra since the beginning. We were family.

In my late 20s and early 30s, my health took a serious turn. For four years I was unable to work at all.
That kind of pause changes you. When you've built your identity around a certain life and that’s suddenly gone, you have a lot of time to sit with what actually matters. Wellness stopped being a concept and became something I lived, something I had to fight for, something I came to understand in a deeply personal way.
When I slowly came back to life - and back to work - I knew I couldn't return to business as usual. The events industry I loved had always been about creating moments, but I wanted those moments to mean more. To go deeper. To include the whole person, not just the experience on the surface.
That shift led to the first rebrand: in 2016, OmniEra Entertainment became OmniEra Life.
The name felt right immediately because that's what we were always really doing: marking life's most unforgettable moments. Events, yes. Travel, yes. But also wellness. Also meaning. Also the kind of experiences that stay with people long after the room clears.
I wish the story got easier from there. It didn't, but it got truer.
Within a year and a half of each other, I lost both Chris and Carlos. Two of the people who had helped build OmniEra from the beginning. Two of the people I loved most. Carlos passed away two years ago this month, and not a day goes by that I don't feel the weight of that.
I hit my second “dark night of the soul”. Walking away from OmniEra felt like a very real option. What was the point without them?
Something shifted over the months I sat contemplating what direction my life was going to go in. I kept feeling them pushing me forward. Like they were saying: keep going. Don't stop. Life’s too short.
I asked myself an honest question: if I'm doing this on my own, what does this look like? What do I love? What am I good at? What do I want more of?
The answers led to the most intentional version of OmniEra yet.
About a year and a half ago, I took another look at OmniEra and refined it with fresh eyes and a full heart.
Connecting the right people, places, and experiences - like pieces of a puzzle finding their perfect fit. Sourcing for events and travel while infusing wellness in our lives. It's where my 20+ years of relationships, my love of creativity, and my commitment to wellness all come together.
Today, OmniEra Life specializes in sourcing for corporate events, incentive and group travel, and wellness programs with authentic wellness and DEIA integration woven into everything we do through our SamTalia Wellness branch. Not wellness as an afterthought. Not wellness washing. Real, intentional design that considers every person in the room.
Wellness is part of life. Life - all of it, the beautiful and the hard - is what OmniEra has always been about.
Chris and Carlos are still part of this. They always will be. I ask myself regularly: what would they say? That question keeps me honest, keeps me creative, and keeps me moving forward.
OmniEra wouldn't exist without them. I wouldn't be who I am without them either, today and tomorrow.
If you've read this far, you probably understand that OmniEra Life isn't just a business name, it's a declaration that the moments we create together matter. Experiences should be meaningful, inclusive, and designed with real people - real lives - in mind.
Whether you're planning a corporate event, a group travel program, or a wellness retreat, I'd love to connect and explore what's possible together.
Life is too short for anything less than extraordinary.
